The long silk wedding gown adorned with pearls radiates refinement. The minimalist silhouette of this Monika Adamska dress is designed to highlight the bride herself on her most special day. For this wedding gown, we selected silk with a rarely seen crepe satin weave and a substantial weight. This fabric reflects light in a unique way, imparting a subtle sheen. It drapes fluidly, moves beautifully, flatters the figure, and is less prone to creasing than traditional satin.
The construction features a front seam, a high neckline finished with hand-applied pearls, and a high, overlaid slit. The gown is sleeveless. For comfort, we chose a lining made from silk satin.
For this project, we selected Majorcan pearls for their deep lustre—closely resembling that of natural pearls—which harmonises perfectly with the satin finish of the silk fabric. The process of their creation is partly shrouded in mystery; the secret lies in repeatedly immersing the core in a specially prepared pearl essence. After each immersion, the pearl is dried and coated, resulting in a perfectly smooth and even surface. The entire process can take several weeks. Such a visual effect cannot be achieved with artificial glass or acrylic pearls.
