A long kimono inspired by traditional Japanese kimonos – both in terms of cut and patterns.
At first glance, we see pine trees (matsu) taking the shape of clouds, called kasamatsu. Scattered around them are plum blossoms (ume), symbolising perseverance, strength and beauty. At the bottom, hanashōbu calamus emerges slightly from among the flowers.
The kimono is made of silk crepe in subdued shades of navy blue and dark, muted blue. A navy blue silk lining has been sewn into the inside.
The matsu kimono, like all other kimonos by Monika Adamska, has many characteristic design elements, such as miyatsukuchi (unstitched front and back parts below the armpits) and the characteristic shape of the sleeves, given by the presence of sode-guchi (sleeve opening) and furi (unstitched part of the sleeve).
